Medical Device Development

We are developing a medical device based on our underlying technology, currently progressing through regulatory approval.

Focus on tic disorders

Our research has focused on Tourette syndrome and related tic disorders.

This work explores how specific patterns of stimulation may interact with the brain networks involved in motor control, and how these interactions may relate to changes in tic-related activity.

Our approach

Our approach is based on rhythmic median nerve stimulation applied at the wrist.

This method delivers gentle electrical pulses to nerves that communicate with the brain. Research in this area has investigated how such stimulation may influence neural activity, including brain rhythms associated with movement and control.

Research

We have conducted research to explore this approach in people with tic disorders, including a UK-based double-blind clinical trial carried out in a home setting.

These studies were designed to investigate how this form of stimulation may interact with tic-related activity under controlled conditions.

Neupulse

“Many people with Tourette syndrome face significant barriers to diagnosis and treatment, and in some areas access to care is extremely limited or unavailable. We welcome emerging technologies, such as Neupulse, as they have the potential to increase access and choice where treatment options are currently very limited.”

Ongoing Development

This body of research forms the foundation of our ongoing development. Our medical device is currently progressing through regulatory pathways and we continue to build evidence to support this.

For Healthcare Professionals

We welcome interest from clinicians, researchers and partners who would like to learn more about our work or explore potential collaboration.
